Enable Tabletop Disaster Exercises with GIS Using Depiction
GIS is an important technology that can enable Emergency Managers to be sure the right information gets to the right people at the right time and in the right format. This is critical for Situational Awareness and creating a Common Operational Picture. GIS is becoming a more common component in disaster exercises that focus on scenarios designed to educate and train those responsible for planning, preparedness, response and recovery.
Watch the video of two experts in disaster exercises and GIS as they demonstrate how Depiction mapping, simulation and collaboration can be used to integrate GIS in tabletop exercises. Presenting the webinar will be Chris Floyd with the Disaster Resistant Communities Group LLC and Ric Skinner, GISP of The Stoneybrook Group LLC and a Depiction Preferred Consultant.
Two disaster scenarios showed how GIS can enhance the exercise experience: post-disaster damage assessment, and response to a mass casualty transportation accident. Please contact us with questions on any aspect of the webinar or the Depiction software.
